North Lakes is rapidly growing suburb to the north of the Brisbane CBD. With such an explosion in its population in recent years, it has become a popular destination for travellers and businesspeople alike – many of whom travel there from Brisbane Airport. Thanks to developments in Brisbane’s transport infrastructure, that trip is now easier than ever, with several options available. You could take a bus, or a train, for example. Alternatively, you could take a taxi. But those options aren’t the quickest. Buses and trains run to schedules, which means their services aren’t always leaving when you need them to be. When they do, you still need to contend with the frequent stops that can often draw out travel times significantly. Taxis might be more direct, but they’re also more expensive and it’s easy to find yourself waiting in the airport taxi queue for some time, when it’s busy. We would recommend a private and door to door transfer with Hughes for that reason. At Hughes we are ready when you are, and we take from the doorstep of your location to the doorstep of your destination.

Brisbane Airport to North Lakes travel times
Brisbane Airport isn’t far from North Lakes, so it doesn’t normally take long to get from one to the other. On average, we would expect a 25 minute journey. However, if there’s a lot of traffic around then that time can easily increase. North Lakes lies just off the Bruce Highway, which is Queensland’s principal arterial highway. During the morning and evenings, thousands of commuters travel along the highway between Brisbane CBD and North Lakes, which sometimes leads to congestion. If you encounter congestion on your journey, then your trip can take up to 35 minutes. Our services operate at all times of day and night, and we notice that off-peak trips are almost always the quickest, sometimes taking as few as 24 minutes from North Lakes to Brisbane Airport.
Brisbane Airport
Brisbane Airport has two terminals to cater for travellers both domestically and internationally. The international terminal lies separately from the domestic one in the Brisbane Airport Precinct at Eagle Farm. The international terminal has two levels: one for arrivals, and one for departures. Both levels come with abundant kerbside collection and drop off spaces, along with taxi spaces and disabled zones. The domestic layout is similar in terms of accessibility, but it’s spread across a longer distance on a single level. That means arrivals and departures pass through the same zone adjacent to the terminal. Luckily, it’s only a short walk from either terminal to your waiting transfer!
North Lakes
North Lakes is one of the largest suburbs in the Moreton Bay Region, and it has a lot to offer. It has recently grown significantly, with the extensive release of new properties onto the market. That has carried with it an expansion in local commerce, with a strong commercial precinct emerging in the area that has brought large retailers to the area. With no end to its growth in sight, North Lakes looks set to become a major hub in the Greater Brisbane Area, and when you visit you won’t find it hard to see why. To get a good feel for the area (and to visit the nearby beaches!) you’ll need reliable transport. Book online with Hughes and you can get transport in and around the North Lakes area, regardless of where you need to go.
